Marietta has had a lot of newspapers over the years.
A while back one of our treasured volunteers, Theresa Thomas, passed a list of all of the newspapers that existed in Marietta over the years. The list appears to have been put together in 1983 and lists The Tallow Light, Volume 14, No. 1 as the source. I was not aware that so many newspapers had come and gone throughout our towns history.
I have retyped the list and have included it below. It is also available as a pdf document in the online resources section of this website. I hope this will be of use to anyone looking for more information on early newspapers in Marietta.
A Chronological Listing of Marietta Newspapers.
