By Jim Reed, editor of the Lower Muskingum Historical Society’s newsletter, Reflections & Sharon Farnsworth – President of Lower Muskingum Historical Society
Join us for a virtual visit to the Oliver Tucker Museum located in Beverly. It is truly a hidden gem in Washington County that is small on the outside and big on the inside. Within the three buildings are collections of steamboat memorabilia, hundreds of pictures, paintings, Civil War items, and furniture. Learn the story behind some unusual items, such as Buffalo Bill’s coat and the disaster of the steamboat, Buckeye Belle. The program will conclude with a look inside the furnished old log house – Ohio’s oldest completely hand hewn log house that serves as a museum. Enjoy this historical treasure found off the beaten path in Washington County.
This presentation is co-hosted by the Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) and The Castle Historic House Museum.
WCHS programs are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. (Donations will be shared between the partnering organizations.) Your support is much appreciated!
