Join us for a virtual visit to the Oliver Tucker Museum located in Beverly. It is truly a hidden gem in Washington County that is small on the outside and big on the inside. Within the three buildings are collections of steamboat memorabilia, hundreds of pictures, paintings, Civil War items, and furniture. Learn the story behind some unusual items, such as Buffalo Bill’s coat and the disaster of the steamboat, Buckeye Belle. The program will conclude with a look inside the furnished old log house – Ohio’s oldest completely hand hewn log house that serves as a museum. Enjoy this historical treasure found off the beaten path in Washington County.

This presentation is co-hosted by the Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) and The Castle Historic House Museum.

About the Lower Muskingum Historical Society: Lower Muskingum Historical Society was formed in 1970 with the purpose to preserve local history in the vicinity of the Beverly area and assist local citizens to become more aware of their heritage. A descendant of Oliver Tucker donated the house to the society. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
