WCHS Archives Open House

The Washington County Historical Society Archives will hold an Open House on Saturday, March 8 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 346 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, OH. The Archives is upstairs on the Ewing School side of the Old Children’s Home.

Come and see our displays that showcase Washington County’s history and people. Look through our military collections from the Revolutionary to the Vietnam War. See if your ancestors are in our Surname Files or our Obituary Collection. Check out our family histories room.

Our Photo Room has collections that range from buildings through events, to people and places and many more topics.

Want to learn some of our Washington County history? We have collections ranging from boat building in the early 1800s to covered bridges, disasters, and many other events. Other collections include schools and churches, organizations and businesses, atlases, maps … and so much more.

Meet a local historical author, Ian Hamilton and his father, Shawn. Ian has written Robert Lowell, A Biography and the 700-page book Lowell, Ohio: History and Memories.
